FINAL DAY AT WORK - Morning to Early Afternoon 1pm
Finally I completed my slides last night. Today was my final day at work. We had a presentation, scheduled at 2pm in the Baron's Training Room. This morning, I spent most of my time at Patsy's desk, chit chatting and at the same time, preparing my presentation, writing notes next to my slides on the paper. I had also prepared all the things needed to handover.
Patsy had to go to skin center during lunch. I had to get her boss lunch. When I was coming back from canteen, I met Niu-ge. He bought food for Alvin. I followed Niu-ge to his office, as I said I hadn't had a chance to visit his office. Niu-ge took some posters of naked girls with boxing gloves at the right places, from his office, then we over to TMO - Technical Manager Office, where Alvin's room was situated too. Niu-ge automatically started to help Alvin paste the posters all over his room, and decorate on his behalf. Then we sat down in Alvin's office and chatted with him and Niu-ge. Think this was the first time, I chatted with Alvin, as he always would be talking about work and not much of other stuff.
Here's about Alvin... borned in 1977, was a NTU graduate in Civil and Structural Engineering (CSE), IA was at PUB, learning about water treatment stuff. Took up engineering degree with the same idea as mine, that was, it would be easier to take engineering degree and then when you work, you take others like business, than vice versa. The range of jobs was also bigger. He knew by his 3rd year of NTU, that hard-core engineering was not his forte. That was why he focused more on environmental side of CSE. This was his 2nd job. His first job was at an American company, doing some logistics and stuff I think. I couldn't really remember. What he could have done was a degree in Business, and than work as a Financial duno what in banks. Definitely not a financial planner... From what I remembered, it was an analyst or strategist or something. Well.. You see.. Finance and Business not my cup of tea, especially economics. I realy don't know the terms.
Then Alvin and Niu-ge recalled on how they met. At Alvin's interview, Niu-ge was told to go and talk to the interviewees. Oops. I think my memory is failing. I can't remembered most of the thing about the interview. I remembered Alvin asked something. Was it "How did you get through the interview?" Probably that was the question. And his reply was something like this, he said he was previously an attachment student, and... I can't remembered. Must be some of my brains being digested by my stomach together with the lunch I had. There were around 5-6 rounds of interviews. First was a group interview, had present presentations and stuff. Then, interviewed by GM, TM, HR manager? and a few other names which I can't remember. I didn't know there were so many rounds of interview. *shrugs*
Then they accounted on the first week of Alvin's work. It was the Wednesday when Alvin and Niu-ge came across each other. Niu-ge was wearing very smart attire, long sleeved shirt, cos he had a presentation to the GM. Alvin, a new-comer then, could still recognized Niu-ge, but didn't wanted to be too friendly and say hi, cos it was abit awkward. Who knows... Niu-ge, with his unique voice.. Do you call that squeaky? Hmm.. Anyway, Niu-ge, with his unique squeaky voice, he shouted, "ALLLLLLLLLLLLL-VIN!!!!" Yes... There was lots of emphasis on the "L". This was something that Alvin could never forget for life.
