CS Production...
Before I say about the production I went to today, I needed to mention about Xiaxue's blog... Before I left hall for Newton, I saw Xiaxue's blog, and amazed by her Photoshop skills. I was impressed by how much slimming she had done to the girl in the photo. Amazing!! Take a look at her blog here >> http://xiaxue.blogspot.com/2005/08/dear-miss-furong.html
Ok.. Back to Production...
Yes. Met up with Cat and Joo at Newton MRT, to go to CS Production. It was named "The Brutal Affections Of His and Her", at AGF Auditorium at Alliance Francaise. (For those who are totally a cultural idiot, the place is near Newton MRT station.) This play was presented by Paparazzi'05, a group of students from the School of Communications Studies.
Joo went to support Helmi, and the event, cos it was her school production. Cat went cos she was involved in Hall 13 Production, so probably could learn something. Well.. these are probably one of the reasons they went. For me, I'd always liked such events, that I could sit back and relax, and enjoy the evening, but I wouldn't go if I didn't had company.
Cat recalled about the first Hall 13 Production. 1st 5 rows nearest to the stage got wet, cos during the play, they started to splash water, or something. That year, was the year, I somehow or rather, totally excluded myself from any hall activities. Vice-President of CAC wasn't the cause of all. Well.. Last year was the first production I attended, at Esplanade.
For me, this was the second time I came to this place. The first time was last year in 14 May, for Hall 6 Production. It was a comedy. Really funny. Was there to support Cheryl, and also Ben, I think. Time really flies... They all had graduated for a year. Missed the times in the library. Haiz.. Though the little girls and boys (freshies) were also quite fun in their way I really needed to get out of school fast. Need to move on to the next phase of life badly...
Ok.. Back to the play. There were 3 different stories to the play. The first story was "The Sex Life of Snails". I quite like the way Daisy's hair was styled. I guess the 3 of us were pretty hungry. We were quite disturbed at the start of the play. The first scene, the couple was having breakfast. The cereals or coco crunch (I couldn't remember) and the milk, was something that interest our tummies. We hadn't had our dinner. I hadn't had anything today, except for 2 slices of bread with snow spread at most? Hunger was what we felt. Anyway, I quite liked the story, as it made the very refreshing start to the evening.
Next, was the story of "The Odd Couple". The odd couple was Oscar (by Helmi) and Felix. They were two male divorcees that ended up staying together. Seeing how their characters clashed was simply hilarious. Oh.. Not forgetting the two "coo-coo" Pigeon sisters. Their appearance was already something to laugh about. One wore purple skirt, the other wore purple necklace or something else; One wore green necklace, the other wore green shoes or something; One wore bright yellow this; the other wore bright yellow something else. So what colours you see on one "coo-coo" sister, you would find it on the other, just that the colour of any piece of accessory/clothing would not be the same. Their high-pitched, delibrately-acted-cute laughters were the next icon of theirs. It really did got on our nerves after sometimes, but their laughters were something to laugh upon too.
The intermission was in the middle of the second story. We were so tortured by the plays as they were perpetually talking about food, food, food, and more food. During the intermission, the 3 super hungry girls, driven by the extreme hunger, crazily ran out of the Auditorium, to the nearest 7-eleven to grab some food. I got myself chocolate coated donut and a tau sar pau (black sesame paste bun). Woah.. That was soooo comforting to my stomach. I guess the other 2 girls also got something that their stomach would cheer about.
Lastly, the 3rd play was "Counting the Ways". Many wouldn't understand the play very well, cos it was presented in a different way. Not too sure how much I understand, but from what I understood, the actor and the actress were perhaps confused and started to get inquisitive about "what actually is love?" I was pretty tired, and hard to focus by this story. It seemed like after the accident, my focus time span was that limited. On top of it, the lady that sat next to me, got pretty fidgetive, cos she didn't understand, and was asking the guy next to her occasionally. Somehow disturbed and interrupted me and didn't get to catch certain parts of the play.
Guess what was after the play?! FOOD, FOOD, FOOD, and MORE FOOD!!
The small consolation from 7-eleven was just an appetizer. We went to Newton Circus for more food! Troubled with zero cash with me, I made my way all the way from Newton Circus back to the Newton MRT for the so-called nearest ATM over there. I wonder why was it so dumb that, a hotspot for food at night would not have an ATM in its premises? *faintz*
Anyway, we managed to find seats in front of this fried carrot cake-cum-oyster omelette stall. It was so apt cos those were the things we loved.
So what did we eat?
1 plate of stingray,
1 plate of oyster omelette,
2 plates of carrot cake - 1 black and 1 white.
Woah.. The black carrot cake was heavenly... It was a mountain of carrot cake, which never seemed to finish after our continuous digging at it. Oh man.. and the taste of it... It was so well cooked!! Oh.. it was simply yummilicious! Heavenly!! Orgasmic!!! Oh man.. I had already started to crave for it again!! Too bad we didn't take a photo of it, did we? You'd had to eat it and experienced it yourself!! Where was the stall? Was it stall 62? It's right after the overhead bridge from the Newton MRT, walk through the path whereby both sides were the more food, and it would be at the T junction. So if anyone wants to go there and eat? Whatever... I recognised the location.. If you are going to Newton Circus, COUNT ME IN!!! I know which stall sells the BEST carrot cake!!!
Hadn't had such a wonderful Saturday after so long. Really had fun... Tired le.. Nitey nitey my dearie bloggie!!
