Ever thought of how these hard candies were made?
I've seen the making of such hard candies on Travel & Living - Channel 16 on SCV. They introduced the famous Jame's and Fralingers Salt Water Taffy by the beach, and even showed the making of it. Oh.. Hard candies = Taffy? Not too sure..
Had you ever wondered how were these candies with small wordings in the centre made? Well.. You be surprised by its initial size... *winkz*
Just happened to see this blog, when the owner showed his process of making it. Oh man... Isn't it cool to have such personalised candies as presents?
Click on the steps to see the pictures and links...
Step 1: They cook and prepare the candy.
Step 2: They spread the stuff on the warm table, to let the stuff cool IIRC.
Step 3: They poured colourings and added colours to the candy.
Step 4: Here, they cut out the different colored mass.
Step 5: The candy was spunned by a machine, to introduce air into the mixture, and hence doubling the volume.
Step 6: The making of the letters that were to be in the centre of the candy. In the link, you will see the word P. They would put the words UPC (a company's name) and surround it with white color stuff.
Step 7: Here's the one big roll of white candy stuff. Inside are the letters. If you were to look it at the top or the bottom of the cylinder, you would be able to see the words!
Step 8: The making of the cover of the white candy stuff.
Step 9: Stretching the cover and wrapping around the roll of white candy.
Step 10: Stretching the entire roll of candy, making the candy to become thinner.
Step 11: Yes.. The BIG roll was stretched to become such a small roll... Amazing right?
And it was placed on the cold table.. and...
Here, it was cut into smaller candies....
Step 12: Ta-Da! The final product!!!
Okies... Credits time...
