First Day of CNY finally ended...

It's NOW 3.00 AM

I've just came back from house visiting.
It's not that I had too many houses and families to visit...
That I had to finish till such late hours.

In fact, I only went to 3 places.
We went to our maternal grandma's place at 10+, 11?
She's our only grandparent around at the moment.

Looking at her, time is really cruel..
She looked really wrinkled and old..
She was wheel-chair bounded since I was young.
I had little impression when she was still okay.
But what I still remembered was..
I used to do Mother's Day cards or Happy Birthday cards for her..


Putting myself in my mum's shoes..
Seeing someone so close to you age..

And tortured by the cruelties of ageing..

It is actually a painful experience too.


I looked at my mum..
She aged alot too..
Friday night, when I came back..
I didn't know something until she went to sleep..
My dad came back after work, and asked me a question..

"How's your mum?
Is her leg getting better?
Must help her in the household chores, okay?"

Then I had a lot of question marks in my head..
I felt such a loser..
I failed to notice that my mum was limping around in the house..
I didn't even know that she fell down at NTUC..
And worse still..
I'm not of any good assist in household chores for the past few days.
Feeling damn useless..

The second place I visited was another place in Tampines.
It's my 4 gu-gus' flat.
My paternal grandma used to stay there..
She passed away 2 days before last year's CNY..
A year flew past just like that..
In the blink of the eye...

Had lunch with my relatives there..
Taking turns to eat the steamboat..
Nothing much to say about there..
Don't really feel close..
Was quite weird and upset for that fact..
Cos I'm someone who love crowds...
Having big families is fun,
And often sought after by many small families or even broken ones..
Yet, fortunate me seemed to have a layer of ice between me and them..
Breaking the ice?
As it always will be..

Headed home..
Had many hour break..
3-7 pm..
I managed to send out some emails..
I managed to re-do my counter for this page..
I managed to sleep for around 2 hours..

Dinner was at my aunt's place.
My mum's 2nd sis, aka my nanny...
Yes.. As usual, we had steamboat there..
Had great fun with my nephews and niece..



MY ADORABLE NEPHEWS AND NIECE!!

Nephew Ian is 8 years old..
Currently Primary 2 in Hougang Primary School.
His Chinese name? Yi4 En1...
Quite direct translation actually.. tsk tsk..
Ian looks kind of handsome for his age..
Apart from his irritating, mischevious acts..
He just gives me the feel that..
He will grow out to be a very sensible brother among the 3..


Nephew Xiaojie aka Fangjie is 5 year old..
His mum calls him Fang Fang..
I can sense that he's quite irritated at that name..
He's Ian's cousin.
Both of them are as though great buddies/brothers..
But Ian will just teach Xiaojie all the bad stuffs..
Xiaojie is a dangerously violent little boy...
Been hitting me for thousands of times today..

This silly boy mistook me as his mum at the dining table!
He ran into the kitchen and threw my brother's angbao at me!
And say, "Nah4!"
Then ran out to play again..
Silly little boy!
Thought whoever sat beside his dad is his mum!


Niece Rene aka Rui4 En1 is 13 months old..
She's a December baby, borned on 7 Dec 2004.
She's my very first baby niece after 6 nephews.
She's so chubby, cute and adorable, so fun to play with!!
I never had so much fun with little baby and kids...
Rene is Ian's sister.
Think their parents really know how to name them..
Ian Chen Yi4 En1 and Rene Chen Rui4 En1


I had so much fun with the two boys after my dinner..
I didn't need to chase them..
What I did was just to walk around..
And they will run to me..
Scream and fight with me with whatever things they have in their little hands..

Most violent award goes to Xiaojie..

He even made little Rene cry..

With Ian around, Xiaojie is happy that there's someone to play with..
With me around, the two of them simply went crazy!!

FORTUNE TELLING SESSION

Angie, my cousin-in-law, aka Rene's mum..
Was talking about animal horoscope and the palmistry..
As far as I remember...
From my palm..

"I should not marry at young age"
Definition of not young age >> 28 and above.

Well.. That was exactly the age that I want to get married..
28 and above!!
But oh well.. I'm still single..
I don't think I will jump into a marriage...
After less than 3-4 years of relationship..


As to why was Angie was so affirmed about that reading..
She wasn't willing to share..
My long fingers led her to asking if I'm a creative person.
I said.. "I don't know!"
One of the last things I could remember was...
Something most people say..
My career line is good!


Next, about the gaps in between my fingers..
I need to get a ring to block out the gap..
So probably you might see me wearing a ring in my middle finger soon?!


Then about the animal horoscope...
Think she said something like "yu4 ren2 bu2 shi4"
Which means that I might meet the wrong guy..
Advice was for me to open my eyes bigger, and judge properly..
Guess I will lock my heart for another year or so..
If you can't find the key, don't try to melt my lock..


Then she goes on about the ideal spouse..
My ideal spouse will be..
Those borned in the year of Dog, Horse, and Tiger.

THE MAHJONG SESSION

Well..
After the short fortune telling session..
We moved on to the mahjong table..
My first time playing $1 - $2.
Overall, it was a great experience.
Lost $5 actually...
My the other cousin-in-law, aka Xiaojie's dad, aka Chuan Wu
Decided to throw some tokens over..
And I break even after that..
The results...
Cousin-in-law Chuan Wu won $90 from Cousin-in-law Angie!


So funny..
To think that Ian was saying his uncle will win in the beginning..
Instead of saying his own mum..
And also, when Angie carried Rene over, and asked her for luck..
Little Rene actually sighed and said,"Aiyah...!"
Angie's heart sank deep into the sea immediately...
So cute!!
I just loved her little chubby cheeks..
Her smiles were unforgettable!!
My first chance of playing with little baby girl !!!


My nephews and niece were simply so lovable!!

Why am I still not graduating?
Why do I have take that long to graduate?


My answers varied..
And I'm not even concerned what I answered..
It was just words to shut them up..

For my paternal side, not very close to them..
My answer would be "Don't have means don't have loh.."
Time to get one?
My answer.. "Got then get loh.."


For my maternal side, closer to them..
My answer would be...
"Don't have lei.. Nobody wants me.."

"Don't be too nosey!
Got means got..
