MY 1ST and ONLY DRIVING TEST - 4 demerits -- PASSED
At last.. I've got my license!! License to drive..
I was feeling so nervous yesterday
Move off, already told that I had wrong technique..
Should first gear before removing hand brake.. Diaoz..
I did the reverse.
Crank course, I strike curb...
Vertical parking, I parked very slanted...
And never check my right side and a car just drove past when I was parking..
Safety checks all got problem...
Moving off after E-brake, I didn't signal right and check for safety before moving off..
I hit the pole when I was doing parallel parking..
Go out on the road, I hardly check blind spots...
While doing my U-turn, I let go my steering wheel and let it return by itself..
Signalling not very good..
I didn't even know slow down must check safety via rear mirror, to see if car behind is slowing down..
Then technique is to tap on brakes to warn the car behind to slow down as well..
So many problems arose when I was having my last lesson prior to my test.
I was totally unhappy, demoralised..
And even told someone I had no mood to talk..
I also ran out of voice to talk too..
My sickness haven't recovered..
Last night...
I was surprised, and also somehow felt that little bit of pressure..
When I heard there was a dinner planned for celebration tonight..
According to our bets..
If I pass, I would treat..
If I don't, I would be treated...
A really pleasant dinner surprise...
It really gave me morale and confidence boost...
And glad that my friend so much confidence in me, passing the test..
This morning..
One of the first things I did, was to postpone this evening's piano lesson...
Make way for my dinner, may it be a celebration or a consolation...
I had a sms, to ask me to inform the sender about the good news...
Feeling kinda nervous.. I didn't wanted to reply...
Cos I didn't want to show my nervous...
Neither did I want to end up bragging to cover my inconfidence...
Ok.. Warm-up test..
A piece of Strepsil into my mouth...
And I followed the Malay instructor to my test car 205.
2-0-5.. reminds me of the childhood game..
Tsk tsk...
I drove.. slow and steady...
The clutch was abit insensitive... gotta leave damn high before the car starts to move..
An advantage for me.. so that my ride wouldn't be that jerky...
Cos sometimes I tend to release my clutch to fast or what..
All goes well.. except I garang over my parallel parking again....
I missed my turning point while talking to the instructor..
The second time also missed...
I laughed.. and say.. ok ok.. one last time..
Last time was ok.. and we moved off to the road outside...
When we were outside...
The stupid instructor fell asleep loh...
Don't think I don't know..
I even turned to look at him..
And there was totally no response at all..
I was ahm-cio-ing.. tsk tsk..
Just before I turned into the centre, some pedestrain decided to jeopardize my good records..
And I stepped on my brakes and gestured her to cross the road..
But she decided not to...
Next thing.. before I know it... my engine stalled...
The instructor said..
Good that you were alert and gave way.. but wasted lah.. Your engine stalled...
And that's about it.. my Warm-up session prior to the test..
There's an approximately 30 minutes wait till the balloting..
A sms came to check me out.. how was things so far...
Then a phonecall was made to say things were fine so far..
And there was a tinge of confidence being felt through my conversation..
Confident or not.. doesn't matter...
All I hope was.. I didn't want to take routes 6 and 7...
And I didn't want the routes going through Ubi Road 4, cos it's damn congested there...
And most importantly.. PLEASE DON'T RAIN!!!!
Just like last sem's exams...
I guess I needed a sweet in my mouth to keep nervousness away...
And since I forgot to bring my Hacks..
I had to eat another Strepsil despite its instructions to take one after every 2 or 3 hours..
And the balloting?! hehe.. I got route 3!!
Cool and steady..
When I saw my tester, I felt that he looked like my IA tutor...
So that probably reduced the nervousness to drive with stranger-looking testers...
At the start of moving off from my parking slot...
I guess I probably caused another guy, whose car was on my left slot, to fail...
We both got to our car together at the same time..
Then I was wondering if he wanted to drive out first...
But he was still looking around when I was already ready to move...
So I started to inch out and turn out to the left...
As I was worried that he might start and move without noticing that I was moving off...
I was paying extra attention to his car, and at the same time, moving my car damn slowly...
Just as what I had predicted..
Before I finished turning out, he started to move off a bit.
Then I quickly stepped on my brakes to stop.
I thought that the look on my tester's face was so funny..
Cos I could see his face turned panicky when he realised the car on his left started moving..
And if that car hits mine, the tester will be the first injury victim.
And yeap.. you could see his right leg nervously moving, wanting to step on the brakes..
But I was proud to say.. I beat him to the it!
And.. ya lah..
I probably caused the testee in that car to fail at the start of his driving test..
I'm so evil... feel so bad...
But nevermind lah..
I had impressed my own tester at the start of my test...
After i moved off, he started telling me..
"Wah! Just now luckily you reacted very fast to brake.. Very good."
A good start, a good impression..
Inside the circuit, first was directional change.
Then I moved on.. and drove against the traffic to the S-course..
Cos the vertical parking slots were just too congested..
My tester wasn't very patient...
Right after S-course, I had to make a quick lane change to go up to the slope...
And after which... I did my vertical parking, and then my parallel parking...
The parallel parking, I didn't even move the car to the centre of the slot..
The tester told me to move off already...
I had to automatically minus off the next two steps
- moving back and stop, and move forward, before reversing...
Straight away, I reversed and move off..
And did a stunt, driving straight into the crank course 28...
Turned, turned turned... Until I had to turn right out to the zebra crossing...
There's a sharp kerb there, very easily kena one... and I cleared that.. *wipes off sweat*
At the zebra crossing in the circuit..
I nearly got tricked by my tester, when he kept insisting on changing lane...
Then I was thinking.. no leh.. Can't change lane at zig-zag lines...
Then the tester thought he could pressure me to commit mistake..
Kept nagging at me saying change lane..
Then I say.. No leh.. Can only change after wah...
Staying focused.. I slowly passed the zebra crossing, and changed to the left lane..
The tester praised me some more
except got 2 times signalling, he needa tell me to do so only
then he continued.. and said.. good drivers.. drive very smoothly one..
then i asked.. so how's mine? is it jerky?
then he say.. yours quite good already..
your first time taking test ah?
he say.. wah.. very good....
wah lau.. then i like floating loh..
cos everytime i engrossed.. i will start forgetting blindspots la..
then the tester carried on to complain about the traffic..
too heavy traffic.. limited time.. how to complete the driving test?
(then next thing.. he cut short the route)
my test time slot har.. out probably 15 odd people..
