Blog of the morning - 20 June 07
2 main things I heard from Glen and FD this morning....
The one that still on discussion as of now....
A bicycle shop in Singapore hangs a notice that says the owner hates smoking, the smell and smokers.
And smokers will be served last and charged at a higher rate.
The notice also says if you are not happy with the rule, don't patron the shop.
Some discussion that flew around was...
Is it a discrimination against smokers...?
Inciting that in future there might be discrimination against Aids patient
or whoever?!
It's much better if the notice was put up politely like...
"Non smokers will be given priority" or something like that???
It's the owner's shop, he can feel free to do what he want?
My opinion? Owner wana get free publicity for his shop.. =P
The next was about China...
That they having lots of suay things / bad reputation things happening lately before Olympics 08..
On today's newspaper, their promising volleyball player got injured and paralysed.
I rem previously there's this gymnast who injured him/herself and probably paralysed as well..
Another is an international recall for Thomas the blue train (for pre-schoolers)...
The recall for Thomas, manufactured in China from Jan 07 - Apr 07,
Due to the excessive lead content in the paint used..
A few days ago, there's the report on the slave workers at the pottery/kiln/some ceramic factory..
(Can't really remember what factory they call it..)
But slave workers are tortured, and even to death..
And they will just secretly bury such dead workers in the middle of the night sneakily...
Lastly... This I didn't really hear the news..
But according to Glen and FD...
The Colgate in UK or some Europe countries? (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Produced in China, is just an imitation of Colgate.
The ingredients was mixed with some Chee-na ingredient for toothpaste?!
Henceforth.. imitation of Colgate..
ERm.. Does it mean, think twice if you are doing manufacturing or getting products from China?!
Anyway, Good morning!!!
Yesterday ended at a happy note, though a 2 hour phonecall that reduced the sleep hours to 5..
A happy note that someone actually told me about something before I knock off... =)
