Those were the days... at Ig's Heaven.. Xmas Crazy!

When I was shopping around..
I missed the times working at Ig's Heaven..
Especially those crazy times prior to Christmas..
And during my times, the 2 or 3 Xmas..
2003-2004 (when we are still at Parkway Level 4)
And 2005, first Xmas at B1..
We used HANDWRITTEN invoices lor..
Not like now, got bar-code system.. So shiok..

The feeling is so different now..
It used to be like.. a closely knitted family..
Everyone knows everyone..
Customers-turned-suppliers...
Boss-turned-friends...
A part-timer like me-turned-SupervisorSusan after 1st Xmas..
And also, not forgetting those bitching times I had with Janice during off-peak weekdays..
People I missed working with.. Philo and Ming, Janice and Jereld, and Ming's sister..
Ming's sister is hell funny lor.. I still don't really know her name lei.. jialat har..

The craziest moments I could remembered..
All happened when we were at Level 4.. or was it 3?
Same level as Giant where the current Kalm's is.. (provided if it's still there)



I can never forget the Monday before Xmas on 2003..
Checking the calendar..
It should be the 22 Dec 2003, and Xmas was on Thursday.
None of us knew what are we in for..
The shop was jammed packed with customers at every hour, every minute..
It's only me, Alex and Philo in the shop.
Most of the time, we are all attending to 2-3 or even more customers at the same time..
It's like, when you walked over to the next cabinet to get 'NEW items'..
People at that area started talking to you..
Not to forget, this little giftshop DOES GIFTWRAPPING!!!!

On this fateful crazy day.
Alex and me. We had no chance for toilet, not even to say about getting a bite...
11am-10.30pm
We were invincible!!!!!


Next was the Xmas in 2004...
Our stacks of $50 notes got WAY TOO THICK!!!
And guess what?!
Our cash register GOT JAMMED!!!
Though we had enough people to deal with the crazy crowd this time round..
Our cash register decided to JAM on us!!!
For that very moment..
The two 'MACHO' guys Ming and Alex, took the cash register to the storeroom..
Trying to 'unjam' it..
And the rest of us, have to get our customers to either pay by Nets or Credit Card..
Or pay us EXACT CASH...
Happening siah...!

Think we had a Xmas cake or something that year..
Like.. everyone stayed back for a while..
And cos we sell Beanbags as well..
We just sat around the shop cosily..


Missed those days that, after work, Ming and Philo took me to the nearby place for supper...
Prawn noodles, the Fei Fei shop.. the Teochew-muay along Upper Serangoon..
Sometimes ice cream...
Sometimes Siglap... Joo Chiat..
Happy times...

I MISS WORKING AT IG'S HEAVEN DURING XMAS PEAK DAYS!!!
I LOVE TO SEE PEOPLE WALKING AWAY WITH CONTENTED LOOK...
