The Southern Ridges - PART ONE [Backdated: 21-Jun-08]
One fine day..
We decided that we shall visit the Southern Ridges..
Actually it was pretty freaky..
Cos dear suggested it..
On the very same day, my boss suggested it as activity for Eldon on the same Saturday.
A different activity..
It feels like how people in the past go pak-toh..
The difference is, the dressing and the intention...
Lovebirds and sweet nothings in the olden times..
As for the two of us, sweat and photo-taking is what we enjoyed...
Here's a log of what we've done and taken photos of...
[Square brackets indicate location]
Me making funny faces while he laid his hands on this SLR for the first time...
And he managed to catch my retarded look.... ROAR!!
Yes.. This is [Gangster-Giggy's room]..
Sound so gay right?! haha..
I drove.. while dear continues to familiarise with the SLR...
Yeap..
We've reached the [Carpark A]...
And the first thing we did...
Testing our cameras.....

He's using Canon EOS 30D, I borrowed from Boss..
I'm using Canon Digital Ixus 800IS
Finally....

We are all ready to go...
And we should head towards... The Canopy Walk....
Meanwhile, we passed by the [Look-At Point]
Me taking a photo of this Look-At Point..

I wonder what pose he wanted..
I felt totally awkward...
Here we are...
[Kent Ridge Park]
The first tree he spotted...
And I hate to stand next to it..
The leaves of the bush there is SOOOO DAMN PRICKY!!!
I zoomed in the photo and printscreened it.. See below..

This explains all about my super unhappy look..
A rock under the tree with some rays of sunlight....
This was the next setting that caught dear's eyes..
I was made to sit on the rock, where I'd gotten most of my major mosquito bites
Yes.. After taking shots of me..
He's still unsatisfied, cos he can't focus his lens properly...
So I thought I should take a photo of him and the tree...

I felt I didn't fare too badly in picturing him and the tree in this set-up...
And I always felt that the second pic could be much better..
If he don't give me that pek-chek aka 'I-can't-figure-it-out' look....
[The Canopy Walk]
Sneaky photographer came right behind me, wanting to snap me...!

Yeap.. Just the two of us..
High up on the Canopy Walk...

Well... This is what you see from the Canopy Walk..

Should have taken a photo of the view below..
You would see orchards.. and the Rochester bungalows from afar..
Erh... He's still trying to figure out how to use the Canon camera....

Walking down the stairs..
As he made the hotline to his bro...
"How do you adjust the aperture for a Canon camera?!"
And it's just a switch!!
Can you see that "Duh!" look from me, upon his 1st successful photo...?!
Acting blur.. "Where are we har....?!"
He wants a model for this shot...
Seriously...
Mahjong session from 12am to 6am won't make this model any prettier..
And yes.. Not enough sleep makes me look bloated and swollen..
Hence, the I-wana-bite look and the 'skin-smile-flesh-don't-smile' look..
Gotta translate to Mandarin if u want to understand the second phrase..
[Hort Park]
Mr Stylo Mylo wants to take photo with the Quarantined house...

Then we went on taking photos on our own....
Here's my findings...
Pretty pink flowers....

It's an insect eating plant!!

Flee for your life!!
Wait a minute..
I'm not an insect.. WaHAHAHA...
Can you see what's beyond the glass?!
I wonder what's dear taking....

Oh.. The Glasshouses...
Dear stopped by for another tree.

His perspective of the tree...
Brighter.... More sparse...
My perspective of the tree..

Darker.. and more shady...
My tree looks more leafy than his har?!
His tree looks like balding..
Look what camera effect can show us..
It's just the same tree.
A Different Perspective.
Can you believe if I can brew up some philosophical analysis with those few tree photos?
And here's the unnoticed small bushes around the previous tree...

This rattan furniture is good for afternoon tea in the garden...
And here's my fave photo... Cheeky huh?!
Modern Xena..
Or constipated Susie...?
Here we are..
At the [HAWAII LANDSCAPE]...
Isn't him KAWAII...?
*sweatz & dot dot dot*

The Hawaiian Sadako..
Sadako just had a haircut though...
He looks as though he's pee-ing here... *laughs*
Looking more decent in the next shot..
The Love Tricycle..
He went on to take some macro shots...
Using the 100mm lens...
[Spice Garden]

Hot spicy chillis...
He went on to take some macro shots...
Using the 100mm lens...
[Spice Garden]
Hot spicy chillis...
While I went to take more flowers...

And a statue that ran out of water to pour...

Posing at the arch...
Back-tracking... Hoping to catch the sunset...
Me, trying to snap at what he's snapping..
I randomly look up at the sky, and took a shot..
I always love to look at the sky through the leaves...
So pretty and relaxing....
Dear's next shot...
Capturing soft rays of the setting sun onto the bench...
